Rep. Haler releases statement on passage of Hanford worker bill

Rep. Larry Haler, R-Richland, released the following statement today after the state Senate passed his legislation, House Bill 1723, to help Hanford workers receive compensation for work-related illness and disease:
“It’s important that we take care of workers who have suffered due to being exposed to harmful chemicals and processes at Hanford. Despite all the safety precautions taken, families and individuals have been devastated by illness and disease. They need help. This bill will help make that easier. I thank Sen. Keiser for her assistance in getting this important legislation passed for the citizens in my district.”
Haler’s bill will now go back to the House of Representatives for concurrence.
The 60-day 2018 legislative session began on Monday, Jan. 8.
