Rep. Haler to host district coffees to discuss upcoming 2016 legislative session

Rep. Larry Haler, R-Richland, will host two district coffees to discuss the upcoming 2016 legislative session. They will take place Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. and again from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the common area of the CSA Building, 719 Jadwin Ave. in Richland.
“The next legislative session is fast approaching,” said Haler. “It’s a short session – a non-budget year – but we’ll be dealing with charter schools, levy reform, further actions to satisfy the McCleary decision, health care and higher education issues. It’s important to hear from my constituents before session begins as the pre-filing of bills starts in December. I look forward to meeting with residents from the 8th District.”
Haler was first elected to the state House in 2004 following stints as mayor and council member of Richland. He is currently the assistant ranking member on the House Higher Education Committee and serves on the Appropriations, Judiciary and Rules committees.
The 60-day 2016 legislative session is scheduled to start on Monday, Jan. 11.
