Haler to host community forum and telephone town hall

Rep. Larry Haler, R-Richland, will be hosting a community forum on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. at the Richland Community Center, 500 Amon Park Drive.   Haler, who has represented the 8th Legislative District in the state House since 2004, said this is a great opportunity for area residents to express their ideas and concerns to him in person.   “We're about a third of the way through the 2013 legislative session,” said Haler.  “We're dealing with issues like health care, education funding, public safety, and higher education access and affordability.  It's always good to hear what the citizens back home think.  Sometimes, it's their ideas – their solutions – that make the biggest impact in how state government functions.  I'm looking forward to having a constructive dialogue with my constituents.”   Haler said he's also hosting a telephone town hall for those who cannot attend the community forum.  His “teleforum” will be on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m.  Those wishing to participate can do so by calling toll-free 1-877-229-8493 and entering pin number 15802.  To ask Haler a question directly, participants can push “star 3” (*3) on their telephone keypads.   The 105-day legislative session is scheduled to end on April 28.
