Kennewick student serves as page in Olympia

Sixteen-year-old  MacKenzie Sack traveled to Olympia to page in the House of Representatives Jan 9-14. He was sponsored by 8th District Rep. Larry Haler, R-Richland.

Sack attended page school each day to learn about the legislative process. As part of his duties, Sack distributed documents and notes to legislators and staff on the House floor, as well as around the Capitol campus.

“It was a pleasure to meet and get to know MacKennzie,” Haler said.  “He fulfilled his page duties with energy and enthusiasm, and I know he was appreciated by both his fellow pages and by the legislators he served.”

Each year, students from around the state apply to participate in the legislative page program.  Students spend a week attending page school, learning the inner working of state government and assisting legislators on the House floor.

Sack attends Delta High School and is the grandson of Bernard Fineberg and Kristi Wold.
